Tomioka Giyuu had always kept to himself. Not once has he ever mixed his personal life with his work life. Because of this, many of the Hashiras were led to believe that he was too stuck up and egoistic and avoided them because he believed they were on different levels. That isn't the case, though. You see, five years ago, Giyuu came across a woman with a child. He failed to save that woman as she passed away from blood loss. This woman, however, entrusted her newborn daughter to him.
