"You're atheist," I remind him. "You don't believe in god." "I believe in you," He murmurs, letting the cigarette hang from his lips. "I believe in whatever you believe." He says, letting the confession roll off his tongue as if it were that simple. As if god, the devil, heaven, hell-as if none of it really had meaning to him. "That's not how it works," I mutter as we walk down a few more alleyways-the city of Manhattan coated in a light blanket of snow. Henry Vitiello had never had anything to pray for, that is, until he met me-the only thing that had ever opened his mind up to the possibility of religion "Isn't it?" He argues, taking the cigarette by his middle and pointer finger before blowing the smoke out. "I'II dip my hands in holy water if it means I could touch you." "You'd probably burn." 𓆩♡𓆪 𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐘 𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐎, the reaper. He's a prick. An asshole. A pretentious son of a bitch. He's not perfect. He's not even decent. But he's hers. FREE STORY WITH EXCLUSIVE CONTENT. This is *not* a Paid Story. Eighteen-year-old hockey prodigy Elliot Wexler has three goals for senior year. One: somehow graduate with a 3.5 GPA. Two: hide his bipolar disorder from his peers. And three: make it into the NHL with no scandals. Piece of cake. What he doesn't expect is to find Lucy, a homeless girl, hiding from the winter frost in his dad's shed. Elliot's busy, complicated life doesn't permit room for error, and falling in love with a girl from a totally different world sounds like the opposite of a good idea. But Elliot can't help but be drawn to Lucy and her elusive ways--even when she seems to vanish from his life non-stop, each time leaving him with a bigger hole in his heart. But Elliot is determined to break down Lucy's barriers. And when he does, he discovers that her life is more complicated--and dangerous--than he could have imagined. With drafting season approaching, and Elliot's fragile mental health deteriorating, he's forced to face a difficult question: Is first love supposed to hurt so much? *** PLEASE DO NOT ADD THIS STORY TO GOODREADS.

{SAMPLE: Published on Amazon} Five hundred years ago, humanity's freedom died. When the Greek Gods and Goddesses were usurped from their home on Mt. Olympus, they crashed upon Earth and enslaved the human race. Children spend their existence inside prisons ran by ruthless Immortals, and upon their eighteenth birthday, they are thrown into an arena to be fought after. Once won, they are scarified with their name and short-lived identity in an unforgiving world, where there is an absence of hope for people with mortality coursing through their red veins. Servitude shackled humanity, but then a girl stood in the arena on the first summer solstice since she turned eighteen years old. A nameless girl, trembling behind the safety of her friend, landed in the Gods' worlds without knowing that she was going to be their unraveling. This wide-eyed slave, who bled two colors. One red like humans. One gold like the gods. Five hundred years ago, humanity's freedom died, but she's here to take it back. Final Book Cover commissioned by @Fantastical-Ink

Noelle Monroe remembers only flashes of the few short years spent with her father. He disappeared when she was young, and now she wants to know why he left her behind when her dreams portray a man who loved her. Nothing else seems to matter as much as answering this question, especially after years growing up with her rage-filled mother, who insists that he abandoned them. She finds herself traveling across the country alone to the small town her father grew up in. Someone must remember the man now existing only in blurry memories and dreams. It's here that she meets West Harrison. He's tall, gentle, and determined to get to know the closed off girl who has appeared so suddenly in his remote Montana town. Slowly but surely, Noelle begins to put together the pieces behind her father's disappearance. But everything is not as it seems, and she will have to learn how to trust again or risk losing this new life she has begun to build in Aspen, Montana. - Later that night, I'm bundled up in the truck next to him, my converse lying on the floor and my arms wrapped tightly around my legs. It's quiet except for the sound of the heater blasting away the coldness. The moon is a brilliant glow in the dark sky, and rays of light fall across his face every now and then. Our eyes meet in the dark, his expression heavy and thoughtful. We sit in silence for a moment, our gazes locked, before he slowly reaches out and brushes warm fingers gently across my jaw. He looks down at my lips and I feel something I've never felt before. I'm not scared, and yet I'm terrified. It feels like an eternity passes before he swallows hard, pulling his hand away. It's dark for a moment, and then the moon emerges from behind a cloud, and everything is light. I take it in with wide eyes. This feels like magic, if magic could exist. I feel the warmth of his hand on my lower back. It's steady, comforting. I like it. And I... I wish he had kissed me.
