“Will you do it,” Jerome’s words rang in my head from the time he still held out the gun. It looked cold and evil and foreshadow-y. “You have to do it. We all killed someone from our old families too.” “Yeah, but Jerome, who’s gonna take the fall for ME? Not all of you guys even been to jail. I don’t want to go, especially if no one’s gonna take the fall for me.” “Here. Just take it. You’ll do what’s right.” Peer pressure. Normal families don’t operate like mine. Normal families don’t have evil fathers and neglectant mothers and whores-for-sisters, and dead older brothers, and imprisoned older sisters. Normal families don’t know the police officers on a first name basis--the ones that care enough to come anyway. Normal families have never been mine. But no one outside of my family knows that.

Love is a strange concept. It makes you do stupid things. It discounts all logic. It makes you feel really weird. Especially if the person you love doesn't necessarily know that you love them back. If you're not willing to tell them then these feelings just bottle up and take your mind over, dictating your every thought. Love isn't healthy when it's so compressed. It's better to let it out and take the risk...or wait around a little longer...

The idea of falling in love with your best friend is one of the most played on concepts in writing. People love that type of story because many want to have a deep connection with the person who knows them best. If this does happen, what usually results is the happy ever after between the two partners. So, what if this isn't that kind of story? Adina and Judas, two best friends, find that living is hard when pasts are drudged up from the forest.

"You and I both know that any girl would kill to be in your position, with me, right now." He smirks, knowing that what he's said is completely and utterly true. Lea Wilson and River Parker don't mix; they don't like the same things, their lives are majorly different. But, what if these two people who are least expected to spend time with each other are doing exactly that? And, not only at school but at home as well. After Lea's house falls apart due to a termite infestation, the Wilson's are invited to stay at an old family friend's mansion of a house. The family friend also happens to be River's father. I'll give you time to digest that information. Yes, you're right. The sarcastic nerd and the egotistical heart-throb live under the same roof and encounter a series of events that make the two do something they didn't think would happen. They grow closer, and closer, and closer, until...well, you'll have to find that out for yourself. Follow them through their adventures of falling in love, getting their hearts broken, and learning lessons that explain there is more to life than they have ever imagined.
