Than a 7th time by being framed for stealing files by Himiko toga he's lost it all now, his dream, his friends, his trust, and his emotions. The only thing left was his heroic heart even though it was useless he still wanted to be a hero and was a hero in prison but he lost an eye for it and could no longer use it. It took all that before being 'chosen' to inherit the power and becoming Izuku Liones

After defeating the ten commandments the curse between Meliodas and Elizabeth has been broken. As a last ditch effort to kill the sins the demon king transports the sins and the boar hat to an alternate universe.
