Todo comienza al final del primer capítulo manga/anime, en donde Ayato en vez de enfrentarse a Anjou y terminar de aceptar el "trato" que este le ofrece (como se nos muestra en el segundo capítulo del manga), decide abandonar su hogar para escapar de sus problemas amorosos con Kasumi. Sin embargo, por azares del destino, al salir de la ciudad, termina en un especie de espacio entre los sueños y la realidad. Ahora tendrá que enfrentarse a sus propios demonios primero antes de enfrentarse al maldito de Anjou y una Kasumi corrompida por la lujuria.
