Adrien Agreste is your average pop star/model with a super strict father and a love for singing and dancing. Marinnette Dupain-Cheng is your average girl who loves to dancing to her hearts content. A chance meeting between the two starts an Immediate friendship, several months later they meet again but as there alter egos, Ladybug and Chat Noir. They both agreed to team up and enter the World Championship Dance Battle with Tikki and Plagg as there managers/coaches. Adrien is in ballet, but Chat rules the streets at night. The champion of Breakdancing, the king of Hip Hop. Who's this Ladybug you speak of? The Breakdancing queen of the other side of town? I don't believe you. She asks if Chat is scared. She calls him "kitty", and he calls her "his lady". Eventually, they'll be calling each other "lover".

Chat Noir is the king of the Paris Underground. Unbeaten, he dominates every dancer who challenges him. Adrien finds freedom in the rhythm and loves escaping his everyday life as a ballet prodigy at his dad's dance academy and fleeing to the Paris Underground. Marinette is a clumsy dancer at the Agreste School of Ballet, where Hip Hop and Breakdancing are looked down upon and disapproved of. Marinette can never stand completely straight or keep her toes pointed, she's simply too clumsy. But she's determined to stay in the school because of her massive crush on the founder's son, Adrien.
