Shadow's been sent to prison for attempted murder of the infamous Sonic the Hedgehog. After confessing his love for Amy, he leaves a note in her pocket with two words: "Ask Rouge". Determined to break Shadow out, she consults with Rouge the Bat to fit the puzzle pieces together and discover Shadow's traumatizing past. But Sonic, who has also confessed his feelings for Amy, is doing everything he can to win back the heart of the girl that he let go. Will Amy fall for him once again, or will she break out of her crush once and for all?

During a normal get-together with the gang, some surprising questions and even more bizarre answers come to light. Who is Silver's father? Who is his mother? What happened to them? Shadow knows the answers but isn't willing to share for his own reasons. When he and the rest of the team are stuck for the night at Sonic's house, his patience will be tested, as the others begin to dive into this quest for the truth. Silver is getting suspicious of everyone's odd behavior, and he also decides to find out what's going on. But he isn't exactly prepared for what he learns, and it may just change, not only the future, but himself.
