John left Salem in 1993, and two years later Stefano has drawn him back in, by kidnapping Marlena. John, Marlena, and Roman are pulled in as Pawn's in one last game plotted out by Stefano DiMera's diabolical mind. What happens when past lovers reconnect, and the real truth behind Stefano's hatred for the Brady's comes to light?

Roman Brady has barely been back in Salem two months, when he abandons his family because of a threat from organized crime boss Raffi Torres. Marlena and her children are left vulnerable when Raffi decides to go after them instead. John takes Marlena, Eric, Sami, and Carrie on the run, determined to protect the family that will always be his.

I wrote this many moons ago and never got to finish it up. Going to try to rediscover the story and characters as I go. You're welcome to come along for the journey, if you wish. This is my take on the affair from 1993, set in that moment in time. Hope you enjoy (:

Notes about the use of canon in this universe: John & Marlena have been married since 1999 and that marriage was fully intact until 2012. There was no Princess Gina, no RoboJohn, no Alex North, no reasons for multiple separations and marriages over the years. Until 2012 their relationship was solid and the tests to their relationship always came from the outside but their relationship itself was upenetrable. 2012 changed everything.

This was my very first #Jarlena fanfic, started in the 90's and never completed. For a sense of completeness of all my fics I'm gonna post it here (also it's easier to read on Wattpad to be quite honest!) So the premise of this story is that a "stranger" arrives in Salem. He looks like Eugene Bradford but he has no memories of Eugene's life, because he is Q (of Start Trek fame). Eventually we find out he is both Q and Eugene (Qugene if you will) and he has been sent to Salem to get a certain pretty lady shrink and her soulmate back together. Kristen DiMera gets in the way and goes a bit cray cray and poor Qugene rather looses his heart to his one time best friend. Like I said, it's unfinished but it's LONG (hey, it is me after all) and like I said it was my first attempt at a fanfic so it's a little clunky in places but it's a bit of fun to read. **** THANK YOU to @MsGoldie for the AMAZING cover design!
