Dalton Black - 28, bisexual, works as an Accountant at 'Simon, Smith & Black' where his grandad, and dad worked/work, and rides a motorcycle, and takes his bike to 'Giorgio's Garage' to be fixed with his partner, Callahan Matthews, and that's where they meet Addison James. They find him fascinating, and "bump" into him around town (Haven), so they can talk with him. Callahan Matthews - 28, gay, works as a FireFighter (a Lieutenant) at Haven Township Fire Station #3, rides a motorcycle, too, like Dalton, and they share an extended cab Chevy Silverado. Follows his partner, Dalton Black, to 'Giorgio's Garage' to have Dalton's motorcycle fixed in their truck, and they meet Addison James. They're fascinated by Addison, and they "bump" into Addison around town (Haven) so they can talk with him. But will they work out, or is there someone better suited for Addison?

Orion Kendrick is 17, gay, and lives with his dad, stepdad, and younger sister. He has a medical condition called CIP - Congenital Insensitivity to Pain, which is a rare disorder that affects the Autonomic Nervous System, which means he can't feel pain. River Brown is 18, bisexual, and lives with his dad, and visits his mom one weekend a month, and he's an only child via his dad, but has two younger siblings via his mom and stepdad. Meets Orion when he transfers to Orion's high school, and they have most of their classes together.

Kai Addison James - 17, gay, lives with his foster parents, new in the system as his Mom just died the day prior, and he has no other family (doesn't know who his father is), Was at the police station overnight after he found his mother dead by suicide, and was there until his Social Worker could find him Emergency Placement, and was taken there 6 hours after his life was shattered. His foster parents (both male) are Bailey and William Marshall, and his 2 foster siblings (adopted by the foster parents) are Theo and Mandy Marshall. Tristan Knight - 18, bisexual, lives with his dad, Weston Knight, and his mom left them when he was 15 for her younger co-worker, and they left town, and he hasn't seen or heard from her since the day she left. Works part-time at a cafe that's owned by his grandparents. Best friend is Theo Marshall, and spends a lot of nights there because he's not a fan of sleeping alone at his house when his dad is working over nights, or sometimes Theo stays the nights at his place with him.

Emerson James - 19-year-old, gay, born with symbrachydactyly, which is when a baby is born with short, missing, or webbed fingers, and sometimes affects the entire hand and possibly the forearm, too. Emerson's form of symbrachydactyly is where his left hand didn't form. Isn't bothered to badly about his birth defect, but sometimes it does bother him when adults stare or make comments, but he's not bothered when people ask questions. Works at a cafe that his grandparents own. Greyson Taylor - 20-year-old, bisexual, works construction with his dad, grandad, and two brothers. They stop in at the cafe where Emerson works, and becomes interested in him and his birth defect. Attending college for Teratology, which is the science that studies the causes, mechanisms, and patterns of abnormal development, and is obtaining his doctorate in this field, and he's 4 years in of 5.

Adrian Hanson is a 24-year-old, gay man, who gets left at the altar on his wedding day by his fiancee, and they had been together for 5 years in total, and engaged for 2, and he thought everything between them was fine. He decides to move out of the town they'd been living, and move to another state because he can, and he works remotely from home, and he needs a fresh start from the place that he and his ex-fiancee had been living together. He takes a couple of weeks to coordinate everything - finding a home to rent until he can search in person for a home to purchase, letting his job know that he's moving, and the new address once he's moved, packing the belongings he's taking, and selling or donating the rest, and notifying everyone important to him about what he's doing. Despite knowing that he's upsetting a few select people by moving states, thankfully they don't guilt him into staying.

Nicolai James Cullen - 21, gay, lived in the foster care system from the ages of 7 through 18, when he aged out of the system, and was moved into apartments for foster kids who aged out of the system without being adopted. He still lives in this apartment, and keeps to himself while at home, or at his job at the local grocery store. Meets a man in an expensive suit that comes into the store one day while Nicolai is cashiering. Nicolai feels small and inadequate compared to the man - like he shouldn't be breathing the same air as the man in front of him, let alone look at him. Every time the man returns to the store, if Nicolai is cashiering, the man waits in his line, no matter how long he has to wait.
