April Hale is a teenager with long brown hair, green eyes, and a secret. Nobody knows it, even her parents and her three little brothers. She lives above the most popular restaurant in the state, which her father is the founder of. She had been to a 40-person school in the surrounding town, but to prepare her for high school the next year, she was thrust in the city public school with thousands of people, including girls who try to shape her into a new person. Her parents don't seem to care either; they just have her work at the restaurant where April has lived her whole life. Daniela O'Brien doesn't want to be involved in what everyone is interested in. She just wants to keep drawing; it's much more important than shopping, boys, and designer clothes. The popular girls seem to like her, so she goes along. Whatever. Then she catches sight of that new girl and it all changes.

It is a new start for New England. It is its own country and ruled by a group called Ceden. Ceden forces people to side with them, practice their religion, and be loyal to only them. Everybody likes it. Or so they think. There is a separate group who is against Ceden that, surprisingly, is very small (maybe because it's illegal, but you'll never know). Everyone against Ceden was in that group. Except, well, her. Vaira Deline, a thirteen year old girl who lost her parents at nine, is against both groups. She has made it far, even buying an apartment, but she is still lost in the world of possibilities that Ceden gives her. Living as a thief to keep her life and her property, Vaira struggles with teenage issues, possible killers, and maybe, just maybe, finding love.

***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain. *** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
