Chapter One of a story I started. I'm only posting chapter one to get some feedback so I can see what works and what doesn't. It was a normal assignment: "parent" an egg for two weeks to learn about responsibility. For Kyle, however, the end of the assignment brings about a whole new beginning.

"Just because something is considered a well accepted fact, doesn't necessarily make it true" Dragons are vile, dragons are wicked, dragons are evil, and above all dragons are dangerous. Everyone knows this, so did Lynwood, son of the local woodsman. He had read enough about dragons to know of their terror and danger and that they must be killed on sight. Not like he had anything to fear, dragons have long become extinct .....or have they? When sudden peril comes to the simple woodsman home and Lynwood's father is arrested with the accusation of plotting against the king, Lynwood and his sister have to flee into the mountains with a mysterious letter that must be taken to the king's nephew. It is there that Lynwood will discover that dragons are not so extinct after all. Lynwood will find himself tangled in the sticky web of politics, and his one key to getting himself and everyone else out of it will be to put aside his prejudice and come to see dragons for what they really are. (Many thanks to my awesome friend Chey for drawing the beautiful dragon that I used for the cover. She is a talented artist and I know the world of success is ahead of her :) )

Avengers/Rise of the Guardians crossover. Neva is the daughter of the infamous Santa Claus and Jackie Frost, and by all accounts, she is a force of nature. She is the best of both her parents, full of wonder and fun. Bruce Banner is a withdrawn and protective man, he tries hard not to make connections and lasting relationships just in case the worst should happen. But he finds himself increasingly drawn to the lighthearted guardian that seems to bring out the best in everyone.

Gracie is headed off to Hogwarts. She's been living with the Weasley family for as long as she can remember, but she's adopted.
