This short biography of Contarhuacho is a taster for a book I am planning entitled, 'Biographies of Inca Women'. I would love to receive feedback on whether a book of that sort would be of interest to you and if so, which Inca women you would like me to include. Curaca or female cacique of great importance and a secondary wife of Huayna Capac, Contarhuacho (or Contarguacho) was born in Tocash in the province of Huaylas, Peru, in about 1500.

A pre-Colombian legend from the Ecuadorian town of Tena in the Amazon region. There is something Romeo and Juliet-esque in this tale where two lovers cannot be together because of feuds that have long-existed in their lands. But, it has not been stolen from English tradition, as the legend has been around just as long as Romeo and Juliet, if not longer. Will the couple find a way to make their dream come true?
