“A breathtaking new epic fantasy series. Morgan Rice does it again! This magical saga reminds me of the best of J.K. Rowling, George R.R. Martin, Rick Riordan, Christopher Paolini and J.R.R. Tolkien. I couldn’t put it down!” --Allegra Skye, Bestselling author of SAVED The epic coming of age story of one special boy, a 14 year old from a small village in the Kingdom of the Ring. The youngest of four, the least favorite of his father, hated by his brothers, Thorgrin senses he is different from the others. He dreams of becoming a great warrior, of joining the King’s men and protecting the Ring from the hordes of creatures on the other side of the Canyon. When he comes of age and is forbidden by his father to try out for the King’s Legion, he refuses to take no for an answer: he journeys out on his own. But King’s Court is rife with its own power struggles, ambitions, jealousy, violence and betrayal. King MacGil must choose an heir from amongst his children, and the ancient Dynasty Sword, the source of all their power, still sits untouched, waiting for the chosen one to arrive. Thorgrin arrives as an outsider and battles to be accepted, and to join the King’s Legion. Thorgrin comes to learn he has a special gift, and a special destiny. He falls in love with the king’s daughter, and as he struggles to make sense of his powers, the king’s sorcerer takes him under his wing and tells him of a mother he never knew, in a land far away, beyond the Canyon, beyond even the land of the Dragons. With its sophisticated world-building and characterization, A QUEST OF HEROES is an epic tale of friends and lovers, of rivals and suitors, of knights and dragons, of intrigues and political machinations, of coming of age, of broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. It is a tale of honor and courage, of fate and destiny, of sorcery. It is a fantasy that brings us into a world we will never forget, and which will appeal to all ages and genders.

After bursting onto the fantasy scene with his acclaimed debut novel, Elantris, and following up with his blockbuster Mistborn trilogy, Brandon Sanderson proves again that he is today’s leading master of what Tolkien called “secondary creation,” the invention of whole worlds, complete with magics and myths all their own. Warbreaker is the story of two sisters, who happen to be princesses, the God King one of them has to marry, the lesser god who doesn’t like his job, and the immortal who’s still trying to undo the mistakes he made hundreds of years ago. Their world is one in which those who die in glory return as gods to live confined to a pantheon in Hallandren’s capital city and where a power known as BioChromatic magic is based on an essence known as breath that can only be collected one unit at a time from individual people. By using breath and drawing upon the color in everyday objects, all manner of miracles and mischief can be accomplished. It will take considerable quantities of each to resolve all the challenges facing Vivenna and Siri, princesses of Idris; Susebron the God King; Lightsong, reluctant god of bravery, and mysterious Vasher, the Warbreaker.

This novel was a near-miss with HarperCollins in 2001. I'm rewriting it now. Here is the synopsis. On a future earth, there are four different kinds of humans. The nephilim -- part human, part demon. The chimeras -- part human, part animal. The clones -- aging, pitifully, undying humans. And standard-issue humans. None of these groups get along. Woden is a nephilim prince who loves Ellie. She doesn't love him but she feels herself drawn to his best friend, Siddhart. However, she belongs to the Creed...and there is no way she will allow herself to fall in love with a demon prince (she hopes.) She has been invited to the annual sacrificial party. Woden is her "ticket" to freedom. Will she marry him to escape her fate? Will she run off with Siddhart? Will she die for her faith?

Excerpt From Story: When people think of the realm next to heaven, they think, 'hey I'd love to live in a place so close to paradise.' But, trust me; heaven's fall back, on our realm, isn't always peachy. Sometimes, it's downright disturbing. Okay, let me explain. In our realm we basically live forever going through the cycle of life like a yo-yo. You go from baby to old and back again. And if, for some reason, you die, you're just born again with all the same memories. Yeah, weird right? At some point I'm the same age as my kids, and older than my parents. All of that wouldn't be so bad if the rules didn't keep changing. Someone murdered me, and I can't remember who or why. No one, short of the man upstairs, seems to know. What happened to my memories? If I lost the memory of something as tragic as being murdered, who's to say I wouldn't die - permanently? Thanks for reading. Feedback is welcome! Please vote in you enjoyed the story. Sincerely, A.
