In this story, the sacrifice ritual happens in season 3, resulting in all of the originals dead except Elijah. Instead, Elijah is transformed back into a human. Elena helps Elijah cope with the loss of his family. Elena and Elijah fall in love and move into a house together, and eventually getting married. While in perfect happiness, Elijah is confronted with the possibility of his family returning from the other side to take revenge on him. Will his new life with Elena be destroyed? (This doesn't follow the original story line.)
