Although originally a Christian holiday it has now found its way into the hearts of hundreds of thousands around the world, and shifters are no different. A special short story brimming with holiday cheer 'Carol of the Bears' is sure to have you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. The story brings back our two favorite bears, Avery and Rick, sharing their first Christmas together as mates. And what would Christmas be without the in-laws? Rick's wonderful and lovable family of grizzlies return to the cabin for another Christmas celebration along with Avery's feisty but wonderful friend Evie and her silent loving husband Scott to share laughs, love, and maybe a little mistletoe. Because what would Christmas be without mistletoe? Warning: ManxMan, don't like don't read.

"The past haunts you, flowing through your veins like water..." Cyris Castellan is a young man with water magic and royal blood. When he was a child, his home was attacked and destroyed by gruesome magic users. They killed his family, orphaning Cyris. Although he survived his dark childhood, the evil warlocks from his past continue to hunt him, determined to end his lineage. For years Cyris has been jumping from city to city, never staying in one place for too long... He eventually gets to the city of Silverport, where he unexpectedly meets a young woman at a bar. He's instantly entranced by her, which leads to an emotional chain reaction Cyris isn't ready for. ~*~ "...but if you aren't careful, water can turn to ice, and freeze." Rosanna Everly is a young woman with ice magic. And she is running from her past and for her life. Wanted for a crime she committed by accident, Rosanna ends up in Silverport. Unable to control her powers, she hides her emotions in order to conceal her magic. But then she comes face to face with a mysterious man in the bar she works at. He offers her a deal. If she helps him defeat a group of magic users, he'll teach her to control her powers. Rosanna agrees, but discovers that there's more to this man than she thought. Terrified of hurting him with her magic, she tries to fight herself. But the heart is not so easily swayed... ~*~ "And when water and ice meet, they create a storm." Caught up in a war against the Trillium Regime, Cyris and Rosanna learn from each other as they deal with their inner demons. She is haunted by visions, while he is tormented by his own guilt over not being able to protect those close to him. Cyris must literally confront his past, while Rosanna is forced to consider the idea that there is more to her life than she thought. With secrets and sorrow, their own personal storms become powerful. And yet, to win the war, they'll need to overcome their storms... @AriellexParker is the co-author of this story

"Tell me girl, why did you and your worthless self waltz into my territory?" An unfamiliar voice booms just before me. I keep my head down as my eyes begin to close. This is it, this is where my life will be ending. I always thought that it might be at the hand of my stepfather, but no. It's of some other guys who also hurt me in torturous ways. Let me tell you that my life has been great. Hint the sarcasm. Suddenly my chin is gripped tightly in a big hand. He forces my head up against my will. No! No I don't want to look at him, I don't want to see his monstrous face. But yet again he's way stronger than I am. So with the last bit of life I had hiding in me I fiercely look into deep blue eyes. Immediately the man's expression changes from a livid, stoic expression to a surprised and soft one. "Mate," I hear him whisper. ~~~ Willa is a simple girl who's gotten the short end of the straw in life. Left at a doorstep when she was just a newborn, to both of her adoptive parents dying, ending with her stepfather abusing her almost every night. She thought her escape from the horrid life she had at home was her boyfriend and best friend. Though in the end they both added to the torturous life she was living. So she did the only thing she could think of to get away from the terrible reality that was slowly swallowing her whole. She ran. Little did she know that running into the woods that very night would flip her entire life upside down. ---- DISCLAIMER: first couple of chapters can be cliche and can use some major editing but I promise the storyline does improve.
