kennedy dyer moved away from her hometown leaving all her friends behind. her new school and town was enjoyable until one day she had to move back for senior year. everyone thought she moved back because she missed home but no, she's running from something. mattia polibio has never really noticed kennedy before until everyone talked about how she's back at their school. day by day he takes a liking to her but then realizes that she's hiding something. so his question is: what happened during the year she moved away? and if that's not complicated enough, his girlfriend doesn't take the fact that he's into kennedy very well and she'll do just about anything to keep mattia.
