If you were to search through the shelves holding each recording of The Hunger Games, you would find the 39th missing. You might be puzzled and search for it- but I guarantee you won't find it, all the recordings have been burned, it's been long wiped from the memories of all- all except those who were reaped that fateful year....

After the war, Peeta Mellark is left scarred, hijacked, and broken. After many weeks of rehabilitation, he is finally allowed to return home to District 12. But there is nothing left except a girl he was programmed to hate. He tries to overcome those feelings of fake hatred as he starts to care for her again as much as he once did before. Katniss Everdeen is alone. Everything she'd fought for had turned out to be nothing in the end. She's haunted by the terrifying events of the past and the ghosts of the people who'd brutally died for her. When on the verge of giving up, she finds herself seeking comfort in the boy she once hated, loved, then lost. Her confused but strong feelings are revisited when she finds herself as the nightmare of the only person who can make her feel safe. How can two broken souls grow back together when it seems so inevitable? (This is a double perspective, each chapter is either in Katniss or Peeta's point of view. These characters were created and are owned by Suzanne Collins, not me (duh) this is also the third book to a three part Peeta perspective series. This story and also the other two stories could be read by themselves, so you wouldn't HAVE to go read the other two before this one)

You and Peeta have been best friends growing up, but by the time the 74th Hunger Games rolls around, you have developed a serious crush for him. Such a shame that you were both reaped to represent District 12 in the Hunger Games this year--in fact, no one saw it coming. Just before you were both thrown into the arena, he professes his love to another girl in front of the entire nation...and your world immediately collapses. What would it take for you to cope once you are thrown into the arena? How would you deal with your feelings? Would Peeta notice his mistake...or would he remain forever oblivious to your feelings? And what happens when another tribute starts developing feelings for you during the Games? Anything can happen in this twist of the 74th annual Hunger Games. **I DO NOT OWN THE HUNGER GAMES. All credit goes to Suzanne Collins.** Highest Achievement: #654 in Fanfiction [CURRENTLY UNDERGOING MAJOR EDITS.]
