From here, Dabi runs into a man so familiar to him but without his memories or powers- he's left in the dark. Meanwhile, Hawks continues to grow more and more bitter as the sun sets for the final time. Under the waning moon, Hawks learns that hope and love can be a very strong light through the darkness.

--Book One of Edge of Dawn Trilogy-- For a millennia, the sun rises and sets without failure- basking the world in its golden rays and granting life. In the heavens, Dabi, the god of the sun- The Wielder of Fire, grows bored. One day, he travels to the land of mortals with a small band of other bored gods. Arriving at a small village, Dabi becomes acquainted with the locals and one particularly sly traveling hunter, Hawks. There is one rule that the gods must always follow and that is to never fall in love with a mortal. Dabi quickly finds himself breaking that rule as he spends more time with Hawks. The other gods around him try to cover up his crimes but word still gets through and one day, tragedy befalls Hawks. In order to save Hawks, Dabi is faced with an ultimatum. Will he choose to sacrifice his power or will he choose his duty over his heart?

Sitting in the back booth, Dabi idly watches the owner of the shop clean some bread knives. A flash of bright blond bursts through the front doors of the shop with all of the force of a rogue gale. Dabi's eyes flick over to the silver bell that chimes merrily, gleefully announcing the presence of the man. It just takes a look to know that this guy probably shops at something stupid like 'Hipsters Я Us'. All in all, the sort of guy who Dabi would've picked on in high school if he hadn't dropped out. - "Alright. Fine." Dabi nods and crosses his arms. "What do you want me to do?" "Uh, like, maybe pretend to be my boyfriend?"

Hawks knew that something would always rule him but he had thought it would've been the Commission. Not his heart that continues to thunder against his ribs each time he sees Dabi. Tall, dark, handsome and dangerous Dabi. "You know, I remember watching an interview of yours. It was pretty old but whatever. Some lady asked what your biggest weakness was, if I recall. Your answer was fire." Dabi muses. "What a shame it would be if these pretty wings of yours go up in flames." Hawks understands the thinly veiled warning behind Dabi's words. He knows that playing with fire is far too dangerous but when it comes to Dabi, it seems that all of his rational thoughts fly out the window.

Part two of the Phoenix Rising Chronicles If one were to ask Dabi when things starting rolling down the hill towards Shitsville he would know exactly where to point in his timeline, saying "There, there is where I should've just stayed in bed that day."

Part one of the Phoenix Rising Chronicles He curses at his superiors for even offering this job to him, didn't they know how dangerous it was to play with fire? Hawks wonders if he will be able to even pull off this whole double agent thing. Or maybe he should just buy a one way plane ticket to Hawai'i and live out the rest of his days lounging lazily on white sand beaches with a nice cold glass of mai tai.
