A year has passed since graduation, and Kirishima and Bakugo have moved in together - for the convenience. While tending to Bakugo's wounds after work one day, Kirishima finds himself with a scratchy throat. He coughs into a tissue and notices that he has coughed up a single petal. He quickly learns that Hanahaki Disease can be fatal, and that he needs his love for Bakugo returned. Can he find the courage to admit to himself and Bakugo his true feelings before the disease takes him?

Kirishima has been dealing with this painful disease for about a month. He thought he could handle it. Nobody knew, and he wanted to keep it that way. He hated the idea of his friends worrying for him, or pressuring Bakugou to love him back-hell, Bakugou didn't even know Kirishima was burdened with these emotions. So the redhead hid it. He hid his undeniable feelings that refused to subside. He was good at hiding. That is, until spring break. The school decided on hosting a school field trip, in which everyone was going to the beach. And by everyone, I mean everyone. It was mandatory for all class 1-A students to attend this trip, as it will include hero training. Now this doesn't seem so bad. Just two weeks at the beach, having a fun time with your classmates. Wrong. You were assigned rooms, with roommates. And I'm sure you can guess who Kirishima was paired up with. These were going to be the longest two weeks of the boy's life. Eijirou Kirishima is a monster, there's no denying it. He is somehow the impossible, in a world where almost everything is possible. All his life he has been beaten, mocked, hurt, and looked down on for what he is. So he learns to never get his hopes up, as he attends UA he's prepared for everyone to hate him. He never wishes for happiness, because in the end everyone leaves him. But Bakugou won't. Bakugou refuses to leave him. This is a Kiribaku fanfic! Bakugo is catching feelings for Kirishima but he's too afraid to tell him because he thinks all he's done in life is hurt people and that it'll hurt him. Soon enough he catches Hanahaki Disease but ignores it till he's forced to get surgery for it. Kirishima has feelings for Bakugo but is too scared to tell him because he thinks he'll get mad at him and ignore him for the rest of his life. He catches Hanahaki about a week after Bakugo does and decides to hide it from everyone. After Bakugo gets the surgery, he loses the ability to love Kirishima again which ends up causing him more pain until... (Also I don't own the cover art. Credits for that go to the original artist.)

When he walks into the school, his excitement drowns everything out. He could care less that he was already a few days late, due to his acceptance letter getting lost in the mail.
