Natasha's breath caught in her throat when she saw the American walk quickly to a waiting limousine, looking nervously around for any visible threats. Including her, she supposed. He slid into the limousine and his escort followed soon after. She leaned forward into her binoculars, resting her elbows on the cab's leather-covered wheel. Yes. He was the prey and she was the hunter. The silence was deafening. A bead of sweat made its way down her face. The limousine started up. Natasha stiffened as the driver pulled forward slightly. She could hear her pulse thudding in her ears. With a horrible wrenching sound, the cab's door was pulled suddenly open. The binoculars tumbled from Natasha's grip as her right hand went for the handgun at her hip. She twisted around in the driver's seat to see a young woman looking at her hesitantly. Natasha crushed the pads of her fingers into the butt of the gun. --- Note: Set in the Marvel Movie universe, not the Marvel Comics universe.

"What would you do, if I said I loved you?" Jack asked softly. Elsa looked at him with wide eyes. "If you don't accept my feelings, it's fine, but I'll always be here, with you." Jack turned his back and left.

I told myself that I could survive through it. I told myself that it does not hurt, not even one bit. I shielded myself from all the heartache and hatred I felt for their happiness. I kept on convincing myself that he wasn't worth it - that I deserved better. But all I the things I told myself only caused my wall to break down, and I realized the most painful and inevitable fact that whatever I do, I could never be that girl. I could never be his girl. Samantha wishes she were someone else. Anastasia, to be exact. Anastasia doesn't sit in the corner and read because she's too shy to talk to anyone. She doesn't keep trying and failing. Anastasia slays dragons. Of course, Anastasia is only a character in Samantha's story. That's what Sam does, she writes. She writes to keep the monsters at bay. She creates new worlds to escape into. And she writes to block out the cranky ramblings of her jilted father, who refuses to acknowledge the woman that ran out on them years ago. But Samantha finds herself thrown into a not so magical adventure when she discovers her long lost mother has been in town all along. She has questions that need answering, and a few arrow- accusations... she'd like to sling. But there are obstacles to storming the castle, her father for one. Either Samantha makes this her happily ever after, or it all ends in tears... Either way, the story is about to change.
