In a dystopian future where humanity has taken drastic measures to reverse the damage they did to the Earth years ago, people are dying at an increased rate from a parasitic invasion to their bodies. But this invasion isn't any normal parasite, but plants. From the day you are born, you are injected with a certain seed for a plant. You will be forced to take pills holding seeds and fertilizer. Once you die, either from suicide, old age, or the plants, you are simply left in a flowerbed to feed the earth even more. If you don't take your injections and pills, you are simply killed and left in the flowerbeds anyway. The plants inside of you will still survive with or without you. If you don't give your child the shots and pills, you are arrested and killed. Your child will be given the shots anyway, and they will be forced to live knowing they will meet the same fate if they refuse. Jasper Contraire, a seventeen year old boy refuses to have his life be ended early by the plants in his body and plans to escape with two friends. Sadie and Cole Fox, two unalike siblings, tag along with Jasper as he tries to find a way to survive the plants in his own body.

In Graycott, the majority of people have a genetic mutation which gives them a physical attribute of an animal. Some have wings, some have tails, some have horns. However, whatever animal you share a trait with, you also share similar brain functions and habits with. Eli Floran, a 17 year old Raven-traited boy, is no different. Excitable and bubbly, Eli shares many habits with that of a raven. Such as collecting objects he finds. However, Eli also is the head of change. The Ravens of the Valley: a gang run by Eli that strives for the better treatment of the nonevolved, otherwise known as humans. Humans, now the minority to the evolved, have been pushed to the bottom of the food chain. Used as servants and forced into hard labour or commonly arrested for just being human, humans have been mistreated for centuries. Eli wishes to change this. With the help of his gang and allies, Eli will force this way of life to end. Through a revolution, he will force the government to it's knees. At least, that's what he hopes. --- "All we're asking for is equal treatment! And if they won't listen to peace, they'll go deaf by violence! We are declaring war today against the corruption of our government! We are demanding, not asking, to be taken seriously! These riots will spread like the fires we've lit today, and they will light the way to a better future for all! So we call for Zander Storms to declare change now, or we will bury him under the floorboards of a new age!"
