For the first time I was actually shit scared of the man standing in front of me. He had never hurt me before but something told me he would tonight. Suddenly he sprang forward leaping up three steps. I was so shocked I just stood there frozen, and then my adrenaline kicked in. Turning I jumped the last couple of stairs and beat it down the hall way. I could hear him thundering behind me "Cora" he growled. I yelped at that begging my aching feet to go faster.
