Centuries ago, two races inhabited the continent of Escor. One, called the Demadi, possessed extraordinary abilities that ranged from simple parlor tricks to destructive elemental magic. The other race, a simple people known as Mankind, grew weary of the Demadi's power. The leaders of Mankind decided the Demadi must be taken care of before they turned their power against them. Their attack surprised the naturally peaceful Demadi. After their defeat, the Demadi were forced to escape across the dangerous Mountains of Borac. As the years passed, the Demadi became little more than the characters of bed-time stories told to scare the children of Mankind into obedience. However, against all odds, the Demadi survived and have been planning their path of vengeance against Mankind. When the Demadi forces invade, will Mankind be ready to face them once again? This story follows two characters living in very different parts of the world, and their perspectives of history vary drastically. Theas Al'moor is a young boy seeking his own path of glory in a world filled with senseless conflict and blood-shed. Lyra Ilaren is a Demadi girl who comes to a realization that puts her in the middle of a dangerous conflict she could not possibly face alone. This story draws inspiration from several fantasy novels such as The Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time, The Stormlight Archives, and The Inheritance Cycle. I have always had a love for fantasy, and hope to bring this great genre back to the forefront of the enjoyment of literature for all ages. Read the dramatic conclusion to "The Son of Kazmor" once it is released in full.
