Allys was a ray of sunshine and smiles when she was a little girl, but facing various hardships that the universe threw at her changed her completely. She joined the military at 19 years old and came back to Chicago to mourn the death of her parents four years later. Grief and pain. She thinks the universe is laughing at her. The worst day of her life followed her into her dreams, tormenting every night and day, and that's why she has a hard time letting all the pain and fear go, not feeling any ray of sunshine that she used to be. But things change when she starts working for Dave, someone who brings a ray of adventure and laughter into her life. But what about that sunshine that she needs? All she needs to do is let the pain go. ~~ "I wanna drink more!" he yelled with his eyes closed, raising his arms in the air. "You just had enough. You're going to regret having a hangover tomorrow." I walked to his bed and took off his shoes and his tie. "You know what I don't regret, Miss Smartypants?" He had a silly smile on his face. "Kissing you." "You're just saying that because you're drunk." "No!" he opened his eyes. "I'm saying that because it's the truth."

Trying to make it through senior year... Hoping to have the least amount of distractions, Sienna Martinez has a simple plan for her final year at Ridgeway High School: get good grades and graduate with her best friend, Alex. If her overbearing mother can help it, she'll make sure that Sienna doesn't dare stray from inside the neat lines drawn out for her... as if high school wasn't enough stress on its own. What Sienna doesn't have a plan for, though, is crossing paths with Joseph Vasquez, Alex's childhood friend. Elusive, with dark wavy locks and captivating hazel eyes, Sienna finds it hard to get him out of her head. Joseph finds Sienna just as intriguing. He's determined to peel back her delicate layers and discover who she truly is underneath the piles of books and study guides. One night, Joseph tests her limits on an unexpected adventure. Returning home elated and possibly more confused than ever, she questions whether her mundane routines and star-student image are worth upholding at the cost of her happiness.
