Starting off at the night of the episode "Sock Opera", Dipper has a strange dream with the dream demon, Bill Cipher, warning him that strange things are going to start happening to him. Indeed strange things DO start happening and there's nothing Dipper can do about it. What fate do these strange things have in store for Dipper? And is there really no escape? Dipper looks around himself one last time, seeing the pained faces of his family and burning them in to his mind. After a terrible car crash resulting in the death of their parents, 17 year olds Dipper and Mabel Pines are sent back to Gravity Falls to live with their Grunkles. Mabel now hates Dipper, and blames him for the crash, since they were only out getting him his anxiety medication. The Grunkles don't fully agree with Mabels logic, but are still distant with Dipper, for they think he's a freak because of his anxiety. And so in the one place he felt he could truly call home, Dipper was now alone and hated by the "family" that once loved him. One night, Dipper overhears the family talking about how useless he is and, doing the only thing he knows, he runs.
