Rylen May is an author of Inside the Mind of the Helpless(a book now used in many psychology classes) and a consultant in the Crimes Unit. He graduated from Elk Valley University when he was twenty-one and spent the next two years looking for work. After finding no work, he moves to Oregon and to a small town called Oakport. It's a small town with woods surrounding it from the outside world. Later he finds a job working with the police. Harvey Ross is the lead director of the Crimes Unit. He was in the military for almost ten years until he retired and joined the police force. For several years he moved his way up and soon became the director where he met Rylen.
