Hermione knew she was good with kids, but this was beyond the pale. She had been called down to Emergency for a 6 month old infant boy, the original diagnosis was splinching as he had been apparated in with an injured adult but the minute Hermione looked at him she knew better and immediately cast the counter curse and began healing the open wound on the child's chest. Someone had cast a sectumsempra on him. What sort of person would do that to a baby? It couldn't have been an accident. The hit had been dead on and with a target that small it had to have been done on purpose. All Hermione wanted to do was to return to Hogwarts and finish her education with a bang as Head Girl. After that, she had her whole life sorted out. She would work things out with Ron, work at the ministry, and become Minister for Magic one day. The universe, as usual, had other plans. Draco certainly wasn't expecting McGonagall to pick him as Head Boy but Harry Potter declined and as per usual, he was the second choice. Unsure what the people back in school had in store for then after all the Death Eater business they were involved in, he returns to Hogwarts with his friends to finish their education anyway. Neither one saw the partnership coming, nor the friendship forged between their two sides. They really didn't plan for any of it to happen - the law, the friendship or the love that changed both of them. He is forced into really horrific things because of his parents. I am going to attempt to write the character as though he was in Gryffindor House and how that would impact his decisions.
