Her parents divorce was a messy, loud thing but she was too little to really get it. All she knew was her world got sliced in half. Mom took her, Dad took her brothers. Life became two separate tracks her mom's house on one side, her dad's on the other, with an invisible wall keeping them apart. For twelve years, she made it work. Her mom's place was cozy enough, with a stepdad who did his best, even if it wasn't always perfect. Her brothers faded into blurry memories, just faces from old photos. She got used to the split, the two different worlds. Then an accident flipped everything upside down. Her mom was gone, her stepdad was stuck in a hospital bed, and suddenly, she had to pack up and move in with her dad. But it wasn't the dad she remembered. He'd remarried, and his house was a whirlwind of four step siblings and her brothers, who weren't kids anymore. She wasn't that same little girl either. She figured it'd be about adjusting to a crowded house, maybe learning to get along with new people. But it turned out to be so much more unanswered questions, secrets everyone seemed to dodge, and the messy, confusing journey of figuring out who she was and who she wanted to be.

I wanted to stay hidden, in my apartment in South Dakota. I wanted to remain anonymous, their world knowing me as Sleuth, someone whose presence was strictly digital. Helping people find their missing loved ones. Then came a deal I couldn't refuse - literally. The Morelli family was one you just didn't say no to, and when you were on their radar, they weaved you into their way of life, their web sticking to you like glue. I promised myself I wouldn't go back to that life after growing up in it; but there was a missing girl to find. And I just happen to love solving a mystery. 'A missing sister story, where she finds herself and a family she didn't even know she wanted.'

At fifteen years old, Aurora Valencia is returned to a family she doesn't remember, and a life she never expected. For the last seven years, she's lived in the shadow of fear, tucked into the corners of her mother's home under the rule of a cruel, abusive stepfather. When he's murdered, her mother claims it as self-defense, and Aurora is left even more broken, terrified, and silent. Her words have never been safe, and her voice has never been welcome. She is placed into the custody of her biological father, Adrian, a stranger with six older sons - Ace, Alejandro, Roman, Xander, Xavier, and Matteo, brothers who remember her, even if she doesn't remember them. Aurora arrives in a house full of strangers with familiar blood, haunted by memories she doesn't have, and guarded hearts shaped by the pain of losing her once already. She tries to stay invisible, trapped in silence and, but slowly, carefully, the brothers she avoids begin to see the cracks in her walls, moments of warmth beneath the wariness. The only time she feels anything close to peace is when she's alone, moving silently through her old ballet routines, her body remembering the fluidity and grace it once had, even if the music in her head has long gone silent. Yet even as Aurora starts to thaw, she begins to suspect that this house holds secrets of its own. Dark and dangerous secrets. Because the Valencia family isn't just a family. They're part of something bigger. Something lethal. And in this world, silence might be the only thing keeping her safe.

Daniella Florakis lived with her family. Well-not her blood family. Her mother died when she was barely ten, and she never knew who her father was. Not like that mattered. Her stepfather had been the best parental figure, and later on, her stepsister, Iris. She was content with her life. That is, until Iris suddenly runs off-no explanation, no reason known, no heads up, nothing. Feeling heartbroken and betrayed, Daniella struggles to figure out what to do next. Everything seems to be spiraling out of control until the police called, claiming to have found her family. All of a sudden, she's whisked away to California and put in a house nearly 2,000 miles away from her original home, with six older brothers she didn't even know existed suddenly appearing in her life. Daniella is thrust into a life that appears to be perfect. What complaints should she have as a rich person? However, she can't help but think something is wrong. Secrets seem to be keeping the family together barely, secrets she isn't privy to, as her brothers clearly showed. But she isn't one to back down. Because these secrets not only involve her, but the truth that she thought she had been living this entire time.

But does blood really run thicker than water? And they don't want Evelina there. They look at her like she's the dust on their boots, an inconvenience they're forced to tolerate, a reminder of the past. And she doesn't understand why. She doesn't understand what she did. "All I know is I don't belong. Not in that house. Not in that name. Not with them. But I have nowhere else to go." All she wishes-quietly, desperately- is to be more than a crack in their perfect world. But cracks spread.
