Storm is a Water Dragon who believes that all dragons are good... except Fire Dragons, the vicious tribe who killed the Water Dragons' king two hundred years ago. She is fueled by hate for them, and her goal in life is to become a Firehunter: A kind of warrior, honored and respected by all, that hunts down the very last Fire Dragons and slayed them. But as she embarks on her journey to become a Firehunter - and finally becomes one - she starts to think that maybe not all Fire Dragons are bad, and maybe Mieru, the island she lives on, can perhaps have another chance for peace after all. ---- Cover art by me! !In the process of being rewritten! ------------------------ "The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies, it comes from those you trust the most." The year is 4999 AS and Princess Scorpion is awaiting her ninth hatching day with her brothers. When the day finally arrives, treachery strikes her like a sharp blade, changing everything she's been led to believe. Anger and betrayal threatens to push her off of the edge, blinding her to her own wrong doings until it's too late...but is it really her anger and distrust that's blinding her? Before long the desert kingdom she called home is shaken back into a time of misery and fear through the sudden death of one of her sisters, war is on the horizon as accusations are tossed and alliances are formed. Tensions are rising, distrust is forming, and blood is spilling along kingdom borders. Forgotten regrets are being unearthed. All Scorpion wanted to do is protect her family, but how far is she willing to go when the enemy is closer than anyone had ever imagined? With the reluctant help of a kind hearted SkyWing whose senses are as good as her eyes and a NightWing with the ability to hear what is left unsaid, will she be able to solve the mysteries that lurk the palace's dark history? The war affected everyone in its own way. Families were constantly living in fear, soldiers had to face the reality that they might not live to see the next day. But that all changed when the dragonets brought the Sandwing heirs together, and Thorn was crowned Queen. From this they created an Academy, for dragons of all tribes to come together. Artemis is one of these dragons. As her parent's compassion for each other and their family deteriorates, the two Nightwings decide they've had enough of them and enroll Artemis and her eldest sister into Jade Mountain. Of the three newly added Winglets, she's enrolled in Opal, and is relieved to know she isn't the only peculiar one in it. But before they know it, Artemis and her friends are faced with a prophecy, and a dark secret. New continents, new tribes, new enemies. They face the biggest threat to Pyhrria since the end of the war. Gold, silver, sun and moon, the scales have tipped. This is the story of Artemis. (Please keep in mind that this story was written right after Moon Rising, before any of the other books of Tui's second series. Excuse any inaccuracy. Consider this an AU)
