He looks down at the floor, trying to find the words and muster up the courage. "Can I ask you something?" he asks. "Of course you can," I tell him. "Okay, so you remember how last night we fell asleep..." he pauses for a minute, trying to pick up where he left off. "Well, I just wanted to ask you..." He looks at me, but I can tell that he's still struggling to say it. "I do remember," I say hopefully encouraging him to say something. "Okay...so, um...it's just that, well.." He pauses again, and you can tell that he's struggling a lot. He swallows nervously, looking away for a moment before glancing away. Finally, he works up the courage to say the words. "So, I just wanted to ask you what...what you thought about the whole thing that happened?" "I don't think it should happen again. You're in love with Lily and I have my studies to think about," I say with a sigh. And I was in love with him but he would never know. His heart sinks, and he lets out a deep sigh. "Yeah...you're right," he mumbles, nodding in agreement. He shakes his head and runs a hand through his messy hair. "Sorry I even brought it up," he says, looking down at the ground.
