Cat Valentine? She's not your average girl. She attends Hollywood Arts, the school that only takes the talented. The thing is, Cat always seems to be in the shadows of her friends. Tori, Beck, Andre, Jade, and even Robbie-they are always getting chances to show off their talent. Meanwhile, Cat can't even get a part in the school choir, simply because the teachers laugh at the idea. High pitched Cat Valentine, a singer? Right... Surprisingly, the person who knows her best is her mean friend, Jade West. The quick-tongued mean girl and perky, bubbly sweet girl have often performed duets together. Jade has been astounded at the change of tone. One minute, a high pitched squeal-the next a soulful, sweet, singer voice that captures your heart. When auditions for Snow White come up, Cat sees it. The chance she's been waiting for. Instead of auditioning as a cute forest animal or an extra, like everyone expects, she goes for the main character. So, is this Cat's chance to step into the spotlight? Will she forever remain in the shadows? Will her friends finally see past the craziness that is Cat? And will Cat ever be... Different?
