Louis and Harry grew up together, and were best friends even in their earliest memories. They are 12 years old when Louis has to move to Australia, and they never expect anything to be the same again. They make a pact, a promise to one another, put it in a bottle and throw it out to sea. They promise to get back in touch if any of them ever find the bottle again. A silly, childish pact that isn't so silly when you're only twelve years old. Seven years later, fate turns in their favour. Louis stumbles upon an old, green bottle and Harry just happens to be in Australia as an exchange student. They spend time together catching up, but no amount of time can make up for the seven years they spent apart. It's almost cruel when you realise the one thing most important to you has been in front of you all the while, yet you never realise.

They couldn't be more different if they tried. Louis Tomlinson is 17 years old and in his last year of the most prestigious private school in Doncaster, before then he's off to Uni. He has big plans for his future, and thanks to his parent's money he will have no problem achieving them. Everyone who attends his school knows him thanks to his incredibly rich family, sassy attitude and gorgeous girlfriend, Eleanor Calder. If there's one thing that completely annoys him, it's that there is a community college right across the street from St. Mark's Private School, and he has to look at the poor, totally inappropriate students that go there. Harry Styles is 19 years old, and (once again) in his last year of college. He goes to Doncaster's community college, just because the Holmes Chapel comprehensive expelled him twice in the span of two years, so he and his family had to move to another town. He has no future because he never shows up to classes and if he actually bothers to, he's either high or drunk; sometimes both. His skin is littered with tattoos and if there's one thing he absolutely hates, it's the snobby students attending the private school right across from his, who think they're better than anyone just because their parents have money. When they meet, Louis is nothing but disgusted by the tattooed boy, and Harry can't help but laugh at the innocent yet sassy boy with blue eyes and amazing arse. Louis had never wanted a relationship like this. Of course, he loved Harry - he loved the boy more than anything. And, at first, their relationship had been perfect. Harry was all gifts and hugs, small pecks on the lips, and amazing sex. But then, Harry had become possessive. Louis, at first, was flattered by how Harry wouldn't hesitate to but in when another bloke was talking to Louis, or how he would give someone a glare for eyeing Louis. Then it escalated. Louis didn't notice how bad it was getting until one night late at the club, when Harry had actually ended up knocking a guy out cold with a slam to the nose just for smacking Louis' bum. From there it only got worse. Harry deleted other guy's numbers from Louis' phone, forbade him from talking to some of his closest friends. Harry hadn't ever hurt Louis, he'd never do that.
