"Opposites attract, often because they mirror each other in secret ways."
Nayeli Travers has never had control. Forced to give away her mind and her body after being taken to New Mexico for child trafficking, she has never been able to live for herself. Raised by the system until the age of twelve every choice, action, and thought was never her own. That is until she reclaims her freedom at a deadly cost. With a new idenity, she now lives under high viligance, completely anxiety-ridden over the mere thought of ever being captured again. Her form of coping is drowning herself distractions and work. A mask to cover a false sense of something she still has yet to claim. Control.
Everything shifts when her roomate convinces her to work alongside with her as a maid at The Donatello Manor.
That's where she meets the notorious Taige Donatello. Brought up by his easy going grandparents and distant business parents that just threw money at him whenever he needed them, freedom was all he ever knew. Taige lived a life of street racing, reckless decisions, and non-stop partying, but beneath the flash and facade, Taige was fighting an internal battle with himself. Years of criticism from his pessimistic father left him constantly trying to prove himself, and earn his father's validation until he couldn't anymore.
With no guidance or stability, he didn't know who he was. So he chased anything that made him feel alive to avoid the emptiness he couldn't face.
As their worlds intertwine, Taige's fascination with Nayeli deepens. To him, her silence speaks in ways words never could but for her, it's both shield and scar. She aches to trust again, yet the echoes of her past hold her back. Still, his persistence softens her guarded edges and in him, she sees a familiar emptiness that doesn't seek to be fixed, but simply understood.
Two restless souls, bound by the illusion of control find in each other the space to heal, to learn, and to gradually become whole together.
