But starting Hogwarts changed him. Being sorted into Gryffindor changed him. Toujours Pur. Always Pure. Maybe Sirius does agree with the Black family Motto. The Marauders are starting their fifth year at Hogwarts; Remus is starting with a massive scar across his face - a byproduct of the increasing severity of his furry little problem, which is a definite cause for concern despite his insistence that it it's fine. Sirius is starting with the memories of a certain morning at 12 Grimmauld Place in August: memories that he might not ever forget, yet is desperate to cloak underneath the facade that every is fine at home and that he and his parents just sometimes encounter minor disagreements. James is starting his fifth year, yes, but more importantly, he is starting phase five of his plan to woo Lily Evans: somehow his friends seem doubtful that he might succeed, but James, being James, is in no lack of confidence. And Peter, well, Peter is starting to wonder just why he puts up with these people, and if he should really be feeling sorry for Lily Evans, and maybe if he should have asked to have been sorted into Hufflepuff.

A small paved road in Diagon Alley leads to Potter's Herbs and Misc., where Remus Lupin buys his (surprise, surprise!) herbs and miscellaneous wizarding supplies every weekend. Only one day, he's met with a rather vexatious surprise of cigarette smoke and dreamy grey eyes waiting for him by the name of Sirius Orion Black.

in high school, sirius black and remus lupin are rivals and enemies. when they meet again seven years later, they start to notice things about each other they never stopped to think about before. basically rivals turned lovers.

"It's like I wanting to fly. You want to fly, so much, but how can you fly if you don't have wings? I want to see the beauty, the colours, everything, but how can you see if you don't have eyes?" Remus Lupin is blind. He used to be able to see, but after he was knifed in an alleyway at age 7 because his father was caught up in gang business, his eyes were destroyed. He knows how to live, how to get around London effectively, but he's been treated differently, as if he's an invalid. He just wants to be seen as a normal human being, but no one apart from his best friends can see him this way. Until Sirius comes along. Modern AU in which Lily and Remus are roommates greeting 3 best friends who move in across the hall.

That's right: we have a coffee shop. We have Wolfstar. We have Jily. We have no magic, and we have it modernised. The best part: NO BETRAYAL OR DEATH! What more could you ask for?
