Of course a lie. He never did something like that but only Apollo and Artemis know because of their domains of the moon and the sun. Still Zeus banished him for being a threat to Olympus and for beating younger campers up. The young demigod ends up in Tartarus again but this time he is in an part so ancient and with so much raw power that even Nyx herself would fear to come here. Now his time in the pit is over and he is back. But now he must help the people he wants to see dead the most against a new enemy. But Percy has another goal. He wants to get revenge.
