Jessica has a rough life. She's depressed, hungry, and lost-and she hopes that moving to a new town with her drug-abusing mother will give her the fresh start she so desperately needs. A new school, new people, and her senior English teacher, Mr. King. As Jessica tries to piece her life back together, she finds that the most unexpected person-Mr. King-is awakening something in her: a reminder of who she used to be before tragedy took over her life.
