Today is Stuart's last day on Earth. Coincidentally it will be everyone's last day in earth. Unaware of the end to come for humanity, Stuart decides to go for a walk to the same aging bridge that claimed his mother's life. As Stuart gives into gravity and begins the long descent toward the river below he's captured by strange otherworldly beings that not only save his life but use him as their personal human guinea pig so that they may study the peculiarities of human life.
