This document lists my headcanons for the characters Flint & Volkner from the Pokémon franchise. Not every fan-work I produce will be affected by every single headcanon listed here, and things may change based on circumstances! Note that these are my personal headcanons & I am in no way claiming that they are canon. Also, I highly encourage others borrowing, referencing or building off of my headcanons! (Fluff, Slice of Life, SFW) Flint had just turned twenty, planning his journey to lands far and wide to become strong enough to join the Elite Four. Volkner, who had turned eighteen, had just finished recovering from his chest reconstruction surgery after 3 months of lying in bed under the care of nurses. Flint didn't want to say goodbye to Volkner without lighting up the competitive passion they have for each other one more time - he didn't want an incomplete farewell. Feeling that way, Flint asked Volkner to have a Pokémon battle now that he was recovered. The battle ends in more than just a draw between them as unexpected feelings bloom between them. Thankfully however, a young traveler, Ash, had come to Sunyshore to take his badge as a competitor at the Sunyshore Gym, eventually leading to Flint & Ash helping Volkner out of his depressive episode. Though both Flint & Volkner were now happy and had gone back to feeling the passion they had for both each other and their dreams, Flint could not brush off the whole situation & could not resist confronting Volkner on what had really happened. He felt as if not everything that could be said was said, and that unresolved feelings remained between them. Volkner isn't someone who is good with hints, he's a straightforward person and expects those that are close to him to do the same. Flint gets it, and rather than dropping any more hints, he steals Volkner's first kiss, and a little more.
