Eyes opening slowly, the feeling of dread consuming not only the mind but the body, sore throat, lungs hurting, a headache and the sound of ringing continuing to get louder. What happened? The sounds of ringing slowly fading, the voices of others screaming, the yells and pleads of bugs, the sight of running, the sight of red. Fires consuming corners of the streets, the sounds of sirens, the patter of feet, the rubble of buildings once grand covering bodies. What's happening? Hornet found herself in this strange state of consciousness, her thoughts echoing throughout her head, the feeling of blood leaking from her body, the realization that she was stuck under the rubble of her own café. That was where it all began, the world as she knew it was gone slowly after, no more smiles or sounds of laughter. ------------- 'What happened to us? What happened to the world? Where did we go wrong? Is this simply our punishment?' Hornet, a young traveler and hunter of the wastelands. The infection claimed many bugs in the lands of Hallownest, now she's alone and travelling throughout the remains of the civilisation that once stood high. Hearning news that her siblings are still alive gives hope and purpose to Hornet once more. Now she searches for them, and prays to whatever god is listening that they are safe. On her travels she'll meet other strange bugs, and together they might manage to survive. But will the stern and cold Hornet accept their kindness? Or will she simply walk on her own? Modern au/technology etc is a thing and the characters used to live normal "human" lives before the chaos unfolded. This story will contain mature themes, swearing, gore, drinking and sexual themes. This story is a ship between two characters in the game Hollow Knight. Before reading this I would suggest you try to get and play the game, at least one play through first it's a great game it has wonderful and interesting gameplay, lore, music, artwork and it's just a great game!
