But did the distraction grant him enough time to maybe think up another way to deal with the war that he felt was going to break out soon? Yes. And did he have enough foolish hope that the Chi no Dorobō, Uzumaki Naruto, might be able to return to his pre-genocidal self? ...Maybe. Naruto got betrayed by Hinata, she was having an affair with Shino. Unexpectedly he would've expected Kiba but no it was Shino. He wants nothing more than revenge but that wasn't his style. Shikamaru knew what the blond was going through so he dedicated himself to making the blond smile again. By any means necessary.
