It's the Tournament of Elements! The evil Master Wu has returned to team up with Master Chen in an effort to defeat Sensei Garmadon and his team of ninja. It's girls against boys in this epic face-off as secrets are revealed, loyalties are tested, and new bonds are formed. But remember: Only one can remain. Dark Sides is a Role Reversal AU series in which Wu was bitten by the Great Devourer instead of Garmadon. Wu still ends up training Kai, Jay, Zane, and Cole as his students. In response, Sensei Garmadon trains Nya, Pixal, Seliel, and Skylor (all elemental masters), and both sides are pitted against each other.

Corrupted by the Devourer's venom, Wu has been scouring all of Ninjago for the golden Weapons of Spinjitzu. Through his students, the masters of the four elements, he will have no trouble controlling their power. Now it's up to Nya and the rest of Garmadon's ninja team to retrieve the weapons first and stop her brother and his friends before it's too late. In this alternate timeline, Garmadon was never bitten by the Great Devourer. But instead, his brother Master Wu, the King of the Underworld, is now devising a plan so he can wield the Weapons of Spinjitzu and rule over Ninjago. He needs the help of four young boys to retrieve the weapons for him. But first he must train them up and teach them his dark ways. (Cover image is my own)

This is an AU where Lloyd never wanted to be like Garmadon, but Garmadon wants it to be like father like son. Also, to be clear, unless it's stated by me in an author's note, or the star I use to sign my drawings or painting is on the art, I probably found it on Pinterest and in no way mean to take credit for someone else's art.

Lloyd Garmadon has been living at Darkely's since the age of four, after being abandoned. He'll be turning 15 in six mouths, making the decision to try and run away from Darkely's for good. The ten years spent at the school has made him fearful of everything and everyone, unable to trust people. Having dealt with physical and mental abuse. When he escape Darkely's he is hungry, cold and scared. He's caught stealing candy and that's when the ninja's showed up. Sensei Wu recognizes Lloyd, and tries to convince him to come back with them. Lloyd is terrified and has to be dragged back to the bounty. He won't look anyone in the eye and doesn't get closer then 50 feet from everyone on the floating ship. Kai feels the most empathy and is the most gentle with Lloyd. Something inside Kai breaks to see lloyd in such a state of fear. Trying to help the others understand that Lloyd just needs to be cared for and spoken to softly. Kai slowly starts to gain lloyds trust. Cover art is not mine and I do not own ninjago.
