1996. Jonah Carpenter is no one special-not a starter, not a social butterfly, not even on the team. He's the quiet kid with a camera and a notebook, tagging along to nationals as the Yellowjackets' unofficial documentarian. When their plane crashes deep in the northern wilderness, Jonah finds himself stranded with a group of teenage girls he barely knows, forced into a brutal fight for survival.
2021. Jonah is a journalist, a fantasy author, and a recluse. He doesn't talk to the others. He doesn't want to. Until Natalie and Misty break into his apartment asking the same question: Did you get a postcard?
The past isn't buried-it's watching. And as old secrets begin crawling back into the light, Jonah is forced to confront the relationships that defined him: the bond with Van that never broke, the sibling connection with Natalie that almost saved them both, the guilt that keeps him away from Shauna-and the quiet, unraveling thread that always led back to Lottie.
In the forest, he learned how to survive. In the real world, he's still trying to understand what that survival cost him.
Some of them came back different. Jonah never came back at all.
