Most girls would be jealous of Calliope Draycott. She seemingly has it all. The friends, the money, the boyfriend, and in a few years, if all goes to plan, she'll have the job too. So why doesn't she feel happy? It's after a disastrous family dinner where she gets some unexpected news that causes her perfect life to begin to crumble around her, and she finds herself able to breathe for the first time. This breath of fresh air has absolutely nothing to do with the kind stranger that offers to buy her a coffee when she's standing outside a fancy restaurant looking like she's stuck between laughing or crying. Theodore Donahue doesn't have time for a relationship, so when he sees a distressed girl and offers to get her a coffee to calm her down and offer an ear, it's simply his good deed for the day. Hell, he's spending money on this, the week. What he doesn't expect is the girl to stay in his mind, and he certainly didn't expect her to show up in his house one day. Especially when he has more important things - like helping to keep a roof over his family's head - to think about. After their chance encounters, they decide that they have no choice but to come to terms with their growing friendship, but when that friendship shows the potential of becoming more, Calliope is forced to make a decision. Should she risk it all or stay with the safe option? This is a dual point of view story.
