Kapı çaldığında sofraya son tabakları yerleştirmekle meşguldum. Gülsüm teyze eli hamurlu olduğu için kapıyı açmamı istediğinde kapıya ilerledim. Kapıyı açtığında uzun boylu sayılabilecek, üstünde jandarma forması olan, dik duruşlu ve oldukça sert mizaçlı bir adam karşıladı beni. Kim olduğuna dair en ufak bir fikrim yoktu. Sert bakışları bir an gözlerime değsede hemen çevirdi bakışlarını önüne. "Buyrun?" dedim çekingen bir sesle. Bakışları yerdeyken, "Sen kimsin?" diye sorduğunda, yanıtladım. "Feyza ben. Yeni kiracı." "İyi, hayırlı olsun," dedi tekdüze bir sesle. "Sağolunda, siz kimsiniz?" diye sormayı akıl ettim sonunda. "Bende Eyüp, ev sahibi. Şu an sizin durduğunuz dairede yaşıyorum." Harika, adamı kendi evine almak yerine hesap mı soruyordum cidden!
