She went to apply for a visa. Instead, she found a husband. Not a name she recognized. Not a face she'd ever loved. But one signature... one binding record... and suddenly, her life was no longer hers alone. According to the system, she was already married. To a man in Romania. A man she had never met. A man she definitely did not marry. What should have been a simple correction turns into a demand: Find him. Fix it. Divorce him. Clean. Quick. Forgotten. But nothing about him is clean. Because when she finally steps into his world, expecting confusion, denial, maybe even cooperation... she finds something far more dangerous. He **refuses**. Not out of anger. Not out of misunderstanding. But principle. Because to him, marriage is not paperwork. It is ownership. It is loyalty. It is blood. And now that she has stepped into his territory, into his name, into his life... He has no intention of letting her walk away. Not when her existence raises questions. Not when her presence feels... right. Not when something about this "mistake" feels far too deliberate. In a world ruled by power, secrets, and quiet violence, she is no longer just a stranger. She is his wife. And whether this marriage was an accident... or a carefully crafted trap- She's about to learn that some vows are written in ink. And enforced in blood. ---

He held up his hands, trying to sound casual, but the sight stopped her cold-blood smeared across his fingers, dark and fresh. "Relax, it's nothing," he said smoothly, his voice trying to soothe, but her heart pounded in stark disbelief. Her eyes widened, fixed on the crimson stains, a silent scream caught in her throat. Horror dripped from every glance. "Nothing? You killed him," she whispered, voice barely steady, trembling with a mixture of fear and accusation. "You're a murderer." He scoffed, a cold shadow flickering in his unreadable eyes. "Don't insult me wifey. I'm above that." The weight of his words pressed down like a guillotine as she steadied herself, voice sharp with defiance. "I'll tell everyone. I won't marry you." A slow, cruel smile curved his lips as he leaned in, his breath ghosting against her ear like a deadly promise. "Will you? Go ahead-tell everyone. I'll destroy everything you hold dear, just like your telling would destroy mine. We'll go down together." He leaned closer, his voice dropping to a chilling whisper. "And as for not marrying me... oh wifey , you don't get to choose. You'll be mine-whether it's in a wedding dress, or buried in a legend". He wasn't supposed to pull her in-didn't even understand why he was drawn to her. She wasn't the most beautiful, but something beneath the surface called to him. A ruthless heir haunted by betrayal, he never let strangers close... yet he craved to keep her. ☆☆☆☆

"You're a good friend, Dom." Friend. The word should have meant something comforting. Instead, it felt like losing. Arabella Sterling has always been warmth in human form-loud laughter in quiet rooms, bare feet in expensive kitchens, homemade food passed across crowded tables, affection given so freely people mistake it for simplicity. At twenty-seven, she has no interest in power, status, or the cold performance of elite society. She'd rather spend hours in bookstores, chase sunsets on the beach, or lose herself in music than play social games with wealthy people pretending to be happy. Then there's Dominic Van Sterling. British. Controlled. Untouchable. Born into one of the most powerful old-money dynasties in Europe, Dominic was raised to value discipline over desire, restraint over emotion, and duty over everything else. Men fear him. Women want him. Entire rooms shift when he walks into them. But Arabella has never treated him like a man people should fear. To her, he's just Dom. Her brother's oldest friend. The quiet man who always remembers when she's cold. The man who notices everything. The man who says yes every single time she needs him. What Arabella doesn't know is that Dominic's feelings for her stopped being harmless years ago. And everyone can see it. The way he watches her. The way he touches her. The way his composure fractures whenever she's near. Everyone notices the way he looks at her. Except her. THAT WAY is a slow-burn quiet obsession romance filled with aching tension, old-money restraint, emotional intimacy, possessive longing, and a man dangerously close to losing control over the only woman he was never supposed to want.
