'They wore uniform grey, their expression hard and distant, their muscles taut with expectation, as if at any moment they were ready to lead an assault, to carry out orders, to kill, to die. And yet they were. Kingston had trained these children to kill at a word, to obey their masters without question. They were machines, the ultimate weapons in modern warfare. Children, as young as seven and as old as eighteen, stood impeccable and fearless, but it was what was hidden in their minds that was to be feared most of all.' Nineteen-year-old Charlotte Owens has entered her final year at Kingston Academy and, together with her best friends, she plans on making it through the year in one piece, away from the scrutinising eye of the headmaster and the founder's son. However, when she discovers that she has been thrust into the role of Head Girl, working alongside a boy she can hardly stand, not only are her plans for anonymity destroyed, but her plans for making it through the year at all seem to be in danger of becoming a wistful dream. Charlotte finds herself faced with the monstrous task of learning to play a game for survival in a world that seems determined to destroy her. Not only fighting for her life, Charlotte must also fight to gain control over the genetic alterations that plague her mind, in an effort to become the soldier she must be. A dark and tense tale of the battle between good and evil, Altered brings to life a strange and deadly world full of power and intrigue, as well as casting light on many secrets that so many hoped would remain undiscovered. All she wants is to return home but when Lucifer's plan starts to take shape she realises she is the key to destroying Heaven and she may be the only one who can save it. Razakiel has been the Devil's right hand man ever since the Fall. He despises Lucifer and everything he's done, but when he discovers Abbegael's secret he finally has a chance to get home. Because sacrificing the Devil's daughter could be the one thing to save him and Heaven alike. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Trapped within the fiery depths of Hell, her only chance of escape is him; a stranger, the enemy. "I'm not going to hurt you," he growls in my ear, "Neither am I going to hand you over to that Bastard." I flinch at the anger in his voice and confusion rushes through me. "What?" I squeak, attempting to get air into my constricted lungs. He sighs, the warm air brushing against my neck, sending goose bumps skittering across my skin. "I'm not going to tell him you intend to escape. How can I when I plan to do the same thing?" My mind whirls as I attempt to understand what he is saying. He wants to escape? But he is one of Lucifer's most trusted. How does that even happen? He's lying. "I'm not lying. I needed him to trust me or I would never find a way to get out." "You know a way out? Wait. Did you just read my thoughts? How did you just read my thoughts? I thought you were a shield!" Once again his sigh of exasperation leaves goose bumps on my skin and a shiver running down my spine. "I am a shield. It just so happens that I'm a reader too. Yes, that is possible. Obviously. Now can I let you go, or are you going to try and kill me again?" © 2013 by Froggie27. (Complete) **A MATURE FANTASY** Book #1 in the Elemental Heir Series. Now published and available in PAPERBACK and KINDLE on AMAZON!! 🤍 "Your ready wit never fails to surprise and delight me, Brenya." He murmured, his lips only inches from my own. I blinked, my lips parting, as his heady scent encircled me. He licked his lower lip, running his teeth over it as his electric blue eyes burned into mine. The heat of his bare chest seeped through my thin cotton shirt, thawing my icy irritation. "Even when you're being cross." He added in a low voice. He leaned closer, before I could respond, and ran his teeth along my jaw. I suppressed a moan. "I wouldn't be cross if you weren't so keen on irritating me." I said, unable to hide the smile in my voice. I felt his answering smile against my neck. "How can I make it up to you?" He whispered, planting gentle kisses up and down the column of my throat. He moved to the other side of my neck, flicking his tongue once against the mating mark near my shoulder. My hands slid up his abdomen, exploring the dips and hard lines of his muscles. Heat uncurled deep in my belly, spreading lower, and lower, until I felt my panties dampen. He growled into my ear, sending shivers down my entire body. *~*~*~*~*~* ~#1 in ROMANCE 9/13/18~ ~#1 in ACTION-ADVENTURE 12/05/18 and 4/25/19~ ~#1 in ACTION-ROMANCE 1/16/19~ ~#1 in DRAGONS 6/9/19~ ~#1 in FAIRIES 7/20/19~ *~*~*~*~*~* ⚠️!! (Rewritten) I've been attending Lake Chastity school since I was ten. I've heard that Mr. Cason, the man who runs the school, brings in children with sketchy pasts. My parents died when I was five, and I'd been shuffled around so many times I'd lost count, until 'the incident' happened. That was when Mr. Cason's right hand lady found me and brought me to a school that claimed to be for troubled kids. Only those on the inside know what the school really teaches its students. It trains us to become the perfect assassins... but first, we need to pass all our regular classes. Once we graduate, we're put on teams to learn how to work together. Being a lone assassin can be difficult, so we're supposed to learn to trust our teammates and learn how to combine our strengths to virtually eliminate our weaknesses. In the six years since I've been here, I've made one friend, and we've only been friends for a few weeks. I'm surprised he still hangs out with me, now that he's seen that I'm a total klutz when I get nervous. I'm afraid of what will happen once we're split into teams. We're required to spend our first week together by testing our skills. How am I going to be able to pass the test of trust, when I don't even trust myself? © 2015 Ladybugtastic All Rights Reserved
