A jaded tyke who is now 11 years old as a year has passed since summer, and for Max- this summer has already had a rough start.. This story begins one week before going back to Camp Campbell after the summer. [ WARNING: ABUSE IS HEAVILY INVOLVED! Max and David both have insomnia. One night, David sees Max out on the docks. An interaction leads to David finding out more than he should. This causes way too much unnecessary chaos that could've been avoided. Thanks, David. (Max is 13 and Neil is 14 in this fanfic! Also, I have no ownership of Camp Camp!) What if, in the episode Mind Freakers, instead of Neil being obsessed over Harrison's magic trick and how he could do it, he was actually worried about Max rather than the magic trick? I'll tell you what would happen-- Maxeil/Nax would become sO CANON- *ahem* Anyway, a whole new story would unwind, and the two would fall in love. The problem is, Max is incredibly dense, since he never loved anyone romantically before (He used to love his parents, but let's not get into that... yet). So, Max tries his best to understand /why/ he feels so happy around Neil, or the knot in his chest when he sees Tabbii fawning over Neil. It's time for Max to learn How to Love Someone.
