A set of chess stands at my bedside table, the white row perfectly in line while one of the black knights already moved. I furrow my eyebrows at the wrongdoing but then remind myself of one thing; he doesn't play by the rules. Picking up the small letter in the middle of the checkerboard, I keep the creeping fear at bay and read the four words followed by his signature, surprisingly neatly written. "Prepare to be checkmated - Nick."

He's a murderer, I think. But I also think I'm falling. And I think I'm falling pretty fast and pretty hard too. And it's okay. Because this isn't just falling. This is what flying feels like. ... I'm just gonna go ahead and say it as it is; THIS STORY IS NOT GOOD. It's fine, but there are better stories out there. It's my first one though, so I'm gonna blame it on that. Mature language. I woke up in a strange room. It seemed to be designed for a proper girl, someone completely different to me. The walls were pastel blue, the bed sheets were baby blue with grey cushions and throws and the carpet was a light shade of grey. The room was decorated with little touches that made it like a little girls room such as fairy lights and small figurines. I didn't know where I was but at least I was well catered for. When I turned around I realised there was a window behind me and behind the window was another girl. I knocked hard on the window and watched her turn around. "Hi can you help me? Why I am here?" I asked. "Be careful there are cameras about! All i know is we were brought here to be the perfect girls. I'm sorry I've got to go."

"Please, please let me go. I beg of you!" I pleaded with the unknown voice. "Now you know I can't do that." The voice said, it's robotic sound angered me. "W-why?" Tears wouldn't stop sliding down my face. "Because you're the key to my happiness." [There are a lot of chapters, but they're all short.]
