Angels and demons live on separate land: Heaven and hell obviously. It's almost like the human world, theres work, houses, buildings, school for younger kids etc... Y/n is a teenage angle who's job is too deliver, like a delivery woman/man :) It's rare to have to send letters to hell though, they also have their delivery person. As one day the young Y/n is sent off by one of the writers to send a note to hell she was so nervous since she never even set foot on the bridge.
