If they had to guess, it all began after Naruto became Hokage. It had been getting hard at home with Boruto's constant bickering and the stress of finishing the mountains of paperwork. Shikamaru is tired of his mom's constant nagging and wants a bit more privacy so he decides to move out. The problem is ninjas don't actually make that much money so he can't afford to get his own place (that isn't a complete dump). Luckily he finds someone not too troublesome to be his roommate.
